Hey!
With over 15 years in the rescue field, I recently joined a new organization and can’t wait to see the incredible things HART will accomplish. I love all dogs, but pit bulls hold a special place in my heart. Over the years, thousands have come through my doors, and only a few couldn’t be rehabilitated.
My first pit bull, Bruiser, inspired me to get into rescue, and because I’ve always worked best on my own, I started a pit bull–specific rescue that I ran until late 2024. When the dogs kept coming, I took over a rescue that was closing in early 2025, and here we are today.
I have big plans to change the way rescue works and tackle the challenges facing so many community dogs. Spaying, neutering, microchipping, vaccinating, training, socialization, and educating owners—especially starting with children—are all crucial steps toward a better future for dogs.
Our rescue may not be the most polished or efficient, but it is full of heart. Christina and I pour everything we have into helping dogs and their owners, driven by compassion, empathy, and a lifelong commitment to every dog we save.
My Story
Bruiser Cruzer was my first pittie mix, I bought him off craigslist for $75 and boy was I naive! First of all I had never had a pit bull more than a few days. Second, I didn't know Bruiser had been taken away from his litter and mother way too early. He was my second soul mutt and I lost him after just a few years because of behavioral issues that I was unprepared to handle. Today I absolutely could handle him but not back then.
I am attracted to the worst behaved boys I can find lol. Because of what I learned and have experienced in the past 15 years I tend to be the one working with those bad boys. I also love the momma's and helping them get through the delivery process and caring for the babies until they star biting feet and then they got to move to fosters.
I have great ideas for creating a community resource that will improve the quality of life for all community dogs in need. I look forward to reconnecting or meeting you for the first time and to working together for years to come.
